As a backend developer, I’ve always chased simple static site generators that allowed me to quickly bootstrap my portfolio sites. 2 years ago I went with HTML5Up. It was super simple, but I needed more and wanted to experiment with newer modern tooling.
Recently, after some Google searches and Reddit threads, I came across Hugo. It felt natural to use, think cookiecutter style templating if you’re familiar with Python. So I decided to, yet again, update my portfolio site. I’m not disappointed with the results. Tags, blog, projects, all come ready to ship out of the box.
I’m determined to stay vigilante in adding new content to this site. Maybe I can even find old posts from 2015?
